Day 9 of #hardware-party
Finally got my servo and arduino to work with a basic code, and finished printing the rest of my chassis components. Planning on making a more advanced code and putting everything together tomorrow for the final design.Day 8 of #hardware-party
Started printing the rest of my finalized chassis parts. In the meantime I started testing out the code for the servo. Currently it isn't working properly, so I still need to figure that out. I believe I might have the wrong voltage for my servo but I'm going to continue to test to eliminate some variables.
Day 7 of #hardware-party
Haven't been able to post for the last few days due to upcoming competition for FTC state. Pretty much been printing and reprinting my chassis parts because the tolerances were completely off. I was finally able to make it fit my servo and arduino, and I'm planning on printing the locking pins tomorrow.
Day 4 of #hardware-party
Started printing the chassis that will house my servo and arduino so that I can test if they will fit in the chassis in real life. Also printing the top cover for it to check if it is thick enough to support it or if it needs to be bigger. Planning on having the print done by tomorrow so that I can test fit and make any corrections if needed.
Day 3 of #hardware-party
Finished my CAD model of my smart lock, it includes all the parts I need in order to properly mount it to a door and lock it. Made a basic part model of the servo and arduino I plan to buy to test fit all the parts together. Tomorrow I'll export it to my 3D printer and start the printing process, hopefully it goes well.
Day 2 of #hardware-party
Finished setting up my 3D printer, runs pretty well now. Started CAD'ing initial portion of my smart lock, designed it to fit my Arduino and Servo. Will CAD out the rest of the chassis tomorrow.
Day 1 of #hardware-party
Today I worked on setting up my 3D printer in order to start printing the chassis parts for my project. Putting the printer together wasn't too bad, but getting the bed level took a couple hours of work and many youtube tutorials, but I think I finally got it in a good spot. I'm planning on doing a couple more test prints tomorrow to make sure everything is good, but from there I plan on CAD'ing out my design.
